Intravenous (IV) sedation is a conscious sedation treatment, meaning that you should be awake during your treatment, aware of where you are and what is happening, and alert enough to respond to any instructions given to you by our dentists and team. Prior to receiving an IV sedation treatment, you will meet with our dentists to determine if IV sedation is the best option for you. We will discuss your medical history, dental needs and other factors during this consultation.
During your treatment, you will be carefully monitored to ensure that there are no complications. We recommend that you bring someone with you to drive you home after your appointment, and that you also have some available to stay with you for a little while after your IV sedation treatment.
